Women in the Outdoors aka WITO

Yesterday I was at my favorite store, Bass Pro of Independence, picking up the registration forms for our WITO event coming up in August.....more about that soon!!
But first, info about WITO. Women in the Outdoors is an outreach program of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), which is a huge non-profit organization. The mission statement of the NWTF is " working for the conservation of the wild turkey and preservation of our hunting traditions"
Quotes from the power point presentation of NWTF/WITO
"An integral part of keeping the hunting heritage alive is the women who make up the members of NWTF /Women in the Outdoors Program"
WITO was started in 1998 by the NWTF to introduce women to the outdoors and our nation's hunting and conservation traditions. The program has grown by leaps and bounds to what it is today. In 1998 there were 8 events being offered...in 2008, there were over 200 events offered all over the United States. "
Which leads me to our event, which is being generously sponsored by the Bass Pro Shop of Independence......the manager, Brian and the special events planner, April, are just super people to work with!! Supportive and energetic, they are all about getting women involved in the great outdoors!!!! Bass Pro opens it doors and provides meeting rooms, some of our teachers and lots of resources to support this great non-profit NWTF/WITO
So, please, ladies 14 years old and above, you are invited to our WITO Outdoors Skills Workshop!!! This is the second year that it has been held at the Bass Pro of Independence.
